Disclaimer: This list is very old with an unavoidable mention of ‘3 idiots’. So beware, you could be entirely misinformed and I do not like getting sued if your favorite Aamir’s movie is not on this list.
I generally am not a big movie freak but when it comes to discussion I have my own small list(which might have grown since then!). Anyway, thinking of some of the best movies I have seen, most are acted by Aamir Khan and hence the list of his movies which I have liked at some points of my life. This list is in no way representation of my current views, necessarily. Here goes:-

2. Dil Chahta Hai (2001)
1. Andaz Apna Apna (1994) – unparalleled
There was a small edit in the list. I watched Sarfarosh and some others again and realized what people commented in here. Sarfarosh was hence moved to 8th position.
Simply great movies. Some the initial ones are undoubtedly well placed. Your views might differ with the middle order. I would love your comments!

daya…kfh..i would place sarfarosh right after dch….everything in that movie was stud man…prolly dch and sarfarosh should be joint winners followed by AAA…

abey i liked it thoda, but mainly i liked the songs somehow. The movie sucks in general at the end but generally not so bad! :)
I think Aamir’s movie “Fana” is the best becasue of its story.

I think its time for all the so called Aamir khan fans to watch Rangeela and rate it in de above list.. One of the most power packed performance by Aamir.. To rate any movie u should analyse all the parameters like story, songs, dialogue, and acting by all the characters and rangeela tops in all the categories.. I do agree with the ratings of his other movies but its Rangeela which has to occupy the top slot..

Hey, this is just my top 12 list. Actually many more movies are supposed to be on that list but since I haven’t watched them all many aren’t mentioned. Nevertheless, the point here is to show the spectrum of good movies by aamir khan since his start of career.

i definitely respect your taste but in my opinion 3 idiots should be in number 1.. he’s really a great actor in bollywood! every films are unique and different from each other and truly amazing in its different ways! his passion in making films are mind blowing!

come on man rang de basanti should be first. Its the best…..in terms of music,direction,acting and its wonderful juxtaposition that no other movie in India has so far achieved.
